Yes, a large part of my work in recent years is with children with special educational needs - autism, pervasive developmental disorder, attention deficit and hyperactivity. I work on communication - the child understanding, and being understood. The diagnosis itself stays with the specialist who made it: I do not make it, confirm it or overturn it.
